Pre-Fall 2012 Trend Watch: Jodphur Trousers

Trousers, pant suit, pantaloni, knicker, and jodphur are just some of the terms used to describe the traditional wardrobe staple that is the trouser… And this up-coming season the oh-so-trendy Jodphur Trouser rules as the most fashion forward of them all…

For A/W ’12 (or Fall ’12, dependent on the country and/or designer) a whole host of designers paid tribute to the Jodphur style.

Gucci A/W 12

Gucci fashion house, thanks to its creative director Frida Giannini, showed several Jodphur style pants in different fabrics worn with cloaks and blazers.

Presenting an image of woman that is at once both androgynous and romantic, Gucci strutted down the catwalk to show just how striking and strong a look the Jodphur trouser can create.

Working with a primary palette of black, Gucci also ultilised woodland green, blue and purple.

Designers such as Prada and Miu Miu also reinvented the trousers by modernizing the prints by adding bold colors choices ranging from magenta, purple and emerald.

You can get the look at a much more purse-friendly price of £95 – but with no less of the designer individuality – at Fashionpony.co.uk with these Wool Worsted Jodphurs from independent designer label Ages of Elegance. A real statement style piece!

In a gorgeous dark lilac hue, the colour is prefect to pair with striking white or the soft pastels of this season.

Although suiting skinny legged of us with the exaggerated hip, the high waist and slimming tapered ankle also work to emphasise the slimmest part of the female form, meaning that these trousers flatter most body shapes.

Team with tank tops, a crisp shirt or a snug fitted T-Shirt and complete the look by wearing wide heeled shoes or cute pumps.

With so many different ways to wear these trousers, why not try them on for size (no need to worry with our no-hassle returns policy) and see what works for you!
