The Fringing Trend on the Catwalk

There’s some exciting trends out there right now, and there’s one in particular that should be top of your list… Ladies, its time to reap some FRINGE benefits.

‘Congratulations’ are in order for Anisha Hamilton, who two weeks after staring in the Fashion Pony Spring/Summer 2012 photoshoot won the Next Top Model… Leeds competition and a contract with Catwalk Model Management! Well done to Anisha and also to Jonny Laidler, who won the Male category.

Fashion Pony attended courtesy of Capital FM and enjoyed a great night, sat on a table with the evening’s hosts Jojo Kelly and Hirsty from the Capital FM Breakfast Show ‘Hirsty’s Daily Dose‘, and also ex Leeds United player Dominic Matteo.

Jojo wore Fashion Pony to host the event, looking fab in the Ada Cut Out Maxi from Klue by Kelly-Ann.

Jojo also treated the crowd to a small song… our highlight of the evening!

A great night was had by all and all who participated helped to raise over £30,000 for the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, the chosen charity.

Fashion Pony will be the headline sponsors at the ‘Vau Vau’ Charity Fashion Show and Art Market, 2012.

Currently in its second year, the Vau Vau Charity Fashion Show (which takes place this year on Friday 27^th January at the Left Bank Church Cardigan Road, Leeds), is organised by Leeds photographer Toria Brightside and fellow photographer Emma Parry, and aims to raise money for chosen charities – 100% of the proceeds will be shared equally between Cancer Research UK and Guide Dogs for the Blind. The event will also showcase and raise awareness of local creative talent.

Sponsored by yours truly, the evening promises to be extremely entertaining, with a catwalk show featuring clothes from local stores and designers including Leeds Retail Best Designer winner (2011), our very own Bo Carter, Best Vintage in Leeds, Bird Shell and up and coming innovative latex designer Eustratia. Eeeeeeeeeeeek.

Fashion Pony couldn’t be happier to be the headline sponsors of this fabulous event of fashion and fundraising. As you well know, we pride ourselves on being a fashion forward brand which provides a platform for fresh and innovative design talent, which is in great keeping with the concept and ethos of Vau Vau.

In addition to the catwalk show, there will also be an exciting art and fashion market, consisting of up to 30 stalls selling everything from vintage clothing and alternative accessories, to custom graffiti canvases – so make sure you bring your spending money. All products are ethically sourced and no real fur features in the show – we love fashion with a conscience!

Doors open at 7.30pm, and there will be a reasonably priced bar as well ;-) ;-). Tickets are an absolute bargain, at £8 (guests are welcomed to make further donations, as 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the selected charities). Well known photographers and artists will be coming from places such as Glasgow and London to exhibit and sell their work, and work by the best of Leeds fine art and photography students will be available for purchase. It guaranteed to be a great event which makes the most of cutting edge art and fashion in the wonderful city of Leeds.
